Heroes: The Fightback Files Channel V New Reality Show

[To set reminder and check TV schedule of Heroes: The Fightback Files click here.....]

‘Women harassment’, ‘sexual assault’ and several other atrocities against women are now all set to be displayed with the underlying intent of fighting it out! To do the honors, channel V brings a fresh new reality show, which will deal with some real life stories of women, who went victimized, yet decided to fight back for their dignity and sense of self.

Coming sunday, at 7 p.m. the channel makers are all set to mark the launch of its newbie reality show called ‘Heroes:The Fightback Files’, showcasing the power of some real life women, who decided to give it back and bring justice to their honor. The show is replacing ‘Gumraah’ time slot, which was all about portraying the real life stories of young teenaged troubles, which translated into crimes.

The content head of channel V, Lavanya Anand told the media about the first episode. She said that the first story will be set against the backdrop of a wedding, where the girl will be harassed by her very own uncle. Instead of backing out of shame or family honor, the girl will fight back and expose the uncle to the rest of the family.

Through the show, the makers wish to not just create awareness about the state of women currently, but also wish to ignite the spirit of fighting it out in women. Today, the women are constantly under scanner for their behavior, clothes, verbal language and so on and so forth. In the pretext of such atrocities, women alone are blamed. So when so much is already said and done for something that they haven’t actually done, why not simply rather do and get the blame! That’s fair and that’s equal as well!

The promos featuring the dramatized artists and even rap singer ‘Hard Kaur’ has already gone viral and is spreading a lot of buzz about the concept. The name ‘Heroes’ is a symbolic name given to all those women, who had the courage, hope and determination to give it back to the male dominated society.

Let’s hope the women learn how to deal with such tricky situations and the rest of society learns how to respect and look up to women, who know a few tricks of giving it back with style and indomitable strength. Stay tuned to watch and get inspired from the lives of these true women, which is all to be dramatized on the show ‘Heroes’, starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, only on channel V.

5 days to go!! New Comers who have entered the world of 2013.

When you walk down any lane…. Even the memoirs one, you may find people you love, cherish and love from quite a long time. But you will always encounter with a stranger that might or might not have an ability to impress you.

Today is the day for similar strangers in our countdown post. Namely the New Comers of 2013 that have made an impact  and impression all over this year.

In fact some of them have become as favorite to us that, oldies face a competition… so let’s see who have entered the world of 2013.

The Boys!!!!

  • Rahul Sharma (Ek Ghar Banaunga) – This guy was to enter as the grown up Ranvi in Star Plus’ Veera, but luck had different plans for him and he started off with this show
  • Vishal Vashishtha (Crazy Stupid Ishq and Veera) – This young boy from Kolkata made it big with Sphere Origins’ show Crazy Stupid Ishq on Channel V and as soon as the show went off air, he grabbed a powerful role in the Beyond Dreams’ Veera on Star Plus where he is playing the grey shaded Baldev.
  • Priyansh Jora/Kiran Srinivas/Adish Khanna (24) – This show has been a game changer for TV, but has been a life changer for these three young actors. Kiran is also currently seen in Channel V’s Paanch as a negative lead. Must say, a great choice in 24 to get noticed!!
  • Nishad Vaidya (Amita Ka Amit) – When he came on the screen with his simple-normal looks, many thought he was a wrong choice, but the actor has today silenced his critics with his talent in Sony TV’s show Amita Ka Amit
  • Rafi Malik (Desh Ki Beti Nandini) – This Gladrags model has made a grand entry as the reigning prince in the political family of Suryavanshi’s in the Sony TV show Nandini by Rashmi Sharma Productions.
  • Ruslaan Mumtaz (Kehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara) – This actor had already shown his prowess on the big screen, and when he moved to TV, people thought it was a very wrong move. But with Rose Audio Visual Pvt Ltd show Jee Le Zara on Sony TV, the handsome boy has managed to climb the popularity charts with his talent and charm.

The Boys

  • Vibhav Roy (Gustakh Dil) – This newcomer seems a hard worker and matches well with his other co-stars in Ravi Ojha’s above show on Life OK.
  • Arpit Ranka/ Arun Rana (Mahabharat) – These two actors stood out among the long list of debutants. Playing Duryodhan and Pandu respectively, the actors have presented great acting talent and screen presence
  • Adhhvik Mahajan (Bani- Ishq Da Kalma) – He made his debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s film and today he plays the lead in this Colors’ show by Mystic Productions.
  • Himanshu Soni (Buddha) – He is good looking plus hard working plus a good actor – and all this makes him a complete package. And getting to play the title lead in a show about the great spiritual leader, Himanshu is cashing in on a lifetime role in Zee TV’s show Buddha
  •  Kunwar Dhillon/Manish Gandhi (Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha 2) – These young bloods joined the show post the leap in season 2. Kunwar played Addu, Manish impressed the viewers with his portrayal of Munna who was mentally disabled and was in the care of Addu.

The Girls!!!!

There is a ritual in US and UK, that a girl in her teens comes out, and present herself as the debutant….marking her officially aloud to party the high society type. It is to show her skills, mannerism and etiquette… today I feel the master of ceremony to quite a similar debutant party… just have a look at our debutants, shall I say.

  • Chandani Bhagwanani (Amita Ka Amit): This not so conventionally good looking actress made her television debut as a child artist but Amita Ka Amit is definitely her big break.
  •  Chhavi Pandey (Ek Boond Ishq): Chhavi is amongst one of those lucky few debutants who get to play the role of a very today’s girl but at the same time this love story throws other challenges at her.
  • Harshita Gaur (Sadda Haq): This model turned actress is seen as a college going girl who wants to make her mark in this world dominated by men.
  • Hiba Nawab (Crazy Stupid Ishq): Hiba made her debut as a girl-next-door, someone who wants to have fun like most of the young girls.
  • Ishita Dutta (Ek Ghar Banaunga): Ishita just adds up to the beautifully weaved story of this Star Plus show. Plus her acting skills are definitely worth being praised.
  •  Nikita Sharma (Do Dil … Ek Jaan): This pretty tall looking lady made her television debut with Nautanki and BAG Telefilms’ show on Life OK but she failed to deliver as per her talent.
  • Pooja Singh (Diya Aur Baati Hum): Pooja Singh made an entry as Emily in Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum.

The Girls

  •  Paridhi Sharma (Jodha Akbar): She was the one to be selected as Jodha after a never ending audition process for the role and we must admit that she does fit the bill well.
  •  Rachna Parulkar/ Shirina Singh (Ek Mutthi Aasmaan): They are the grown up version of the two kids….. and are trying to fit the bill.
  • Riya Deepsi (Mahabharat): This debutant actress is currently essaying Gandhari. A role that even senior artist would be scared to touch in terms of its magnificence.
  • Sapna Pabbi (24): We are sure that a lot of newcomers are jealous of Sapna as they did not get to play Anil Kapoor’s daughter but, this debutant is definitely happy to the core after bagging this role.
  • Sippora Zoutewelle (Firangi Bahu): Sippora is a firang but she can mouth Hindi dialogues fluently
  • Sheetal Singh (Paanch): This Nasha star made her television debut with Paanch where she is seen as a girl who is all set to take revenge of her sister’s death.
  •  Shiny Doshi (Saraswatichandra): This doe-eyed beauty made her debut with Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra as Kusum.

Reality shows rule the roost

While TV channels continue to have their dosage of daily soaps, spanning various genres, what comes across as the most favored choice of the audience, is the wide range of reality shows, offered by TV today.

Right from reality shows on cooking, dancing, business, singing to the more TRP generating dating and love reality shows, the TV channels have a huge platter serving every kind. Reality shows have indeed carved a niche of their own on TV today.

Earlier, reality show concept was a far fetched concept and just a few were on space. Only singing reality shows like ‘Meri Awaaz Suno’, ‘Close up Antakshari’ and ‘Sa re ga ma’ were in the chart. Now the ever increasing popular demand of watching some live entertainment, via some fights, drama and tragedy, has generated the concept of reality shows.

The concept was initially heard in American shows. Thanks to Shilpa Shetty, our country too has now accepted the concept well and no wonders, we now have our own Indian version of Big Brother! The most recent one is the ‘Bigg Boss-season 7’ entrant on Colors, which is all about drama, comedy and real life battle among 15 contestants, all of who are celebs in their own right!

Not just Bigg Boss, today we have almost 6-7 different kinds of reality shows, entertaining the masses. With shows like ‘Connected Hum Tum’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ ending with fan furor, the audience is still eager to watch the rest of it.

There are shows like ‘Indian Idol Junior’, ‘Dance India Dance-Super Moms’, ‘Junior Masterchef India’ and the ‘baaps’ of all current reality shows, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 7’ to watch out for. If not satisfied with this, India will soon have its own matrimony reality show. All thanks to Mallika Sherwat, who will be seen in the Indian version of ‘The Bachelorette’ for groom hunting!

For more gossip and glam, our audience does have dating, live stings and several other reality shows on UTV Bindaas, MTV and Channel V. The most popular that comes to mind is the Roadies, which seems to grow onto our minds every year, right from the audition! Other than that on air, there are shows like ‘Emotional Atyachaar’, which is good for catching a glimpse of our current dating scenario.

Hence proved, that our audience is now biting onto these reality shows to fuel their desires and derive their regular quota of love, tragedy, drama, thrill and excitement! There are no doubts that these reality shows are harboring on the adrenaline levels of the audience quite well! No wonder, the TRP elevator for such programs is always up!
