Curiosity- Reviewing episode 1&2

The first episode of this amazing series that  started last  week had Stephen Hawking as the celebrity guest who gave his views explicitly on whether God created Universe or not.

As per Hawkins Big Bang happened out of a black hole to create the Universe. And Time can’t exist inside a Black hole. Hence before big bang there was no time and hence No creator of Universe can exist. Big bang itself is the creator on Universe and Time!

The second episode that aired yesterday night had Morgan Freeman hosting the show and giving breathtaking opinion on theories of some great quantum mechanics physicts and cosmologists.

This episode of Curiosity investigated the possibility of existence of more than one version of reality. On the edge of space, buried in a black hole, or right on top of you, there could be an exact copy of yourself living a parallel reality. In those parallel worlds, you may be living your wildest dreams, or your worst nightmares.

This episode answered the questions like “Is there more than one of you or more than one of me?” and “Does another version of you look identical?”

We could all be living multiple parallel lives because as scientists explore the outer reaches of physics n cosmos they are beginning to believe that parallel universes do exist and that they might determine the fate of humanity.

The show takes you to an imaginable world and tells you to that it might take a staggering number of light years a man will have to travel to meet his cosmic clone.

But the big question is: why do we care if another version of you and me exists. We are never going to meet them face to face. But these alter egos are important because they are the key to answering the biggest questions of existence – How was the universe born and how will it end?

You have to tune in to the show and find out yourself!!

Watch out for repeat telecast: 26 oct, 04:00pm

iDubba recommends what to watch this week on TV through Personalized Weekly ‘Show Dubba’?

Sorry, for not posting here on iDubba’s blog for quite sometime. In fact I became more active over and writing guest blogs instead of writing at my home ground. No. My intention was not to run away from Blogging on my own site, but the main issue was- I needed to find a concrete reason for visitors to come over here and get some real useful information. Something which can be easily associated with what we are doing at iDubba.

I thought that I needed to take a step back, re-think what I was doing and then decide what should be done. I thought that- I should write something which will be associated with what we do at idubba i.e. TV show and Movie suggestion and alerts. But how can I differentiate between what my website provides and what I’ll post here? This question needed to be answered and I finally came up with this idea-

Show review: "Doing DaVinci on Discovery"

Yesterday I was able to catch this show which I wanted to watch when it premiered in India but somehow missed that time. However yesterday I put a reminder for the show and was able to catch it right on time. So here is my take on the show-

“Doing DaVinci” is based on innovative and creative thinking of the original Renaissance Man- Leonardo Da Vinci. He was an artist, scientist and a master of technology. Some of the designs which he made were thought to be ahead of his time and couldn’t be constructed then. Discovery thought of this as a good opportunity and came up with this idea of making a show around such designs.

But, as we know Discovery, they are experts in creating shows which are awesomely appealing. Hence they chose the ‘war’ section of Da Vinci’s designs to be constructed by a team of six experts from various fields of expertise. In this series their aim to construct 4 war designs viz. Armored Tank, Siege Ladder, Scythe Chariot and Machine Gun.

Yesterday I watched their “Seize Ladder” episode. In the episode ‘The crew attempts to build the renaissance master’s most massive design: a towering three-story siege ladder. But as creative differences arise, tension threatens to pull the team apart.’ To be frank the show wasn’t able to leave an awe effect on me, as it does for other Discovery shows. May be because this episode was related to a ladder and not something like Tanks and Fire guns. But one thing which was missing is lack of information about Da Vinci’s design itself. They should have covered his theory behind the design more extensively, because that is something we are really looking at on the show.

The show still has some usual Discovery touch- fighting among team members (some spice), flawless commentary and perfect execution. The only lacking part for last episode was content. Let’s hope that upcoming episodes are better in content as well.

Watch this show on Discovery: Sat, Dec 19 at 10:00 AM and let us know what you think about the same.

So here is iDubba’s iVerdict for the show- [3 Stars]

Note: Verdict can be modified after watching future episodes :-) !
