Good news for Samir Soni’s fans-he is soon coming back on small screen! Samir who was last seen playing a powerful character of Kunal Chopra in Ekta Kapoor’s show Parichay aired on Colors TV is now set for a new avatar. He has been roped in to play the male lead in Somersault’s upcoming venture on Life OK.

Samir Soni’s fans were deeply saddened by sudden ending of their favorite show Parichay. They even demanded a season 2 by showing their anger on various social media sites but no one paid heed to them. But now the wait is over and they can rejoice with the come back of their favorite TV hero.

Samir will be seen in a bi-weekly thriller saga from the makers of Fear Files season 1 and 2 to be aired on Life OK. The show will have 12 episodes and each episode will have a new story to unveil. This show is based on paranormal activities and his character will have mysterious shades to it. So, it will be a new Samir Soni for his fans who will see him in an entirely different genre than Parichay.

When contacted, Samir confirmed the news and said, “Yes, I am doing the show and I am playing a very interesting role. I have always taken up shows that are character driven and in this show my character is cynical, a dark character who doesn’t believe in paranormal things and tries to investigate it. I am looking forward to the role and hope even people like it.”

The only sad part forParichay fans is that Samir will not be seen with his Parichay co star Keerti Nagpure who played Siddhi Chopra. Our little birdie has informed that Abigail Jain of Hum Se Hai Life fame has been finalized to play the female lead.

Though Parichay couple will not be seen together we hope that in coming future Keerti gets a role opposite Samir so that Parichay fans can see their awesome chemistry again. Meanwhile fans will only get to see Samir.

Parichay was pulled off due to low TRPS and no exciting story line. Parichay-nayee zindagi kay sapno ka- a Balaji Telefilms production started off in the year 2011 on Colors. The show was due to complete 2 years in July if not stopped abruptly. It was ended in March to give on air time to a new show ‘Bani-ishq da kalma.’

The producers and channel felt that there was nothing new left to show the audience while on the other hand ardent fans of the show believed that a season 2 with rich and successful Kunal Chopra would have given a fresh twist in the tale while keeping the same star cast.

Jo hota hai acche ke liye hota hai…guess fans will love him in his new role! i-Dubba wishes Samir good luck and courage to fight with ghosts and spirits!!

Parichay fans can keep praying for season 2 which for sometime looks difficult but we keep our fingers crossed too! Share your Views, Reviews, Comments and Suggestions on Twitter-iDubba and  iDubba app

Parichay—Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka: End of a story, beginning of a rage!

“The main reason, apart from its dipping ratings, is the fact that there is nothing left in the story to be explored. The show seems to have reached a dead end”.… This reason was cited when it was decided to pull the plug for Colors TV show Parichay – Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka.

Exactly one month back, last episode of this show was aired. Curtains for the show raked anger among the ardent followers. They pleaded the channel and production house to think otherwise or at least give them some respite by announcing season 2 for the show but their voice fell on deaf ears.

The followers of the show were not disheartened and are still running organized campaigns on varied social networking sites demanding for season 2 of the show. The situation in hand has raised a lot of questions on the integrity of TRP system.

If indeed the TRP of the show was low, than these so called reasons stated by production house and channel should have been acceptable to the viewers. Instead of demanding season 2, they would have happily bid adieu to the show. One would have not come across such mass appeals. Guess it’s time for channels to relook at the whole TRP concept.

Even the cast of the show could not believe it was time to throw in the towel. The male protagonist of the show Kunal Chopra aka Samir Soni believes there is still lot of scope in the story and is willing to produce season 2 of the show if the channel permits him to do so. Interestingly, the channel and production house are tight lipped on this as well.

We genuinely hope the channel takes a serious note of the situation in hand and offers a reason to rejoice by announcing season 2. After all, Television shows are for audiences and they should have a right to decide if it’s time for pack up. Share your Views, Reviews, Comments and Suggestions on Twitter-iDubba and set reminders for your favorite shows on iDubba app..

Samir Soni: I think change in time-slot could have affected Parichay’s TRP

[To set reminder and check TV schedule of new show Gurbani click here..]

Finally Parichay had bid adieu to its fans yesterday, after the show ended Samir Soni on what went wrong with the show.. Also he has expressed his interest in producing a sequel of ‘Parichay‘.

He thinks when the show shifted from 9.30 pm to the 10.30 pm time-slot, it could have affected the show’s TRPs, because we already had a loyal audience watching it at 9.30 pm; a kind of habit was formed. We lost that audience, resulting in a fall in the ratings. Further he says, there were 4 to 5 repeats during the day, and people who had stopped watching the show when it shifted to the new slot, started watching the repeats. These factors have badly affected Parichay. With over 400 episodes, the show would have completed 2 years in July. It still has a great potential that remains unused. The Constant struggle of Kunal Chopra we’ve shown, but we haven’t touched upon or explored his life as a successful man.

Fans hurt by the channel’s unjustified treatment towards the show, demand for Parichay season 2

[To set reminder and check TV schedule of Parichay nayee Zindagi kay sapno ka click here ...]

Television has been a women oriented medium for many years. Parichay nayee Zindagi kay sapno ka was an attempt to bring a change to regular saas-bahu dramas. Parichay was a first of its kind, a male centric daily show, which had a male as the protagonist. Parichay is a story about a fallen hero Kunal Chopra, who has lost everything in life his love, his lawyer profession put on hold. Also, his family life changes from living in a big house they shift into a 2 bedroom flat because of Kunal not compromising with his principles.

Parichay, when everything is back on track, all of a sudden ending and that too abruptly. Keerti had an unfortunate accident and the channel stopped all promotion for the show. The absence of Keerti was dealt with pretty well but there was no reason to stop the promos. They should have promoted the show but even when she came back, there was still no promotion. Whereas, other shows on the channel were getting a new promo almost every day. Where’s the justice in that?
Parichay (SiNal) fans are very hurt by the channel’s unjustified treatment towards the show. Instead of promoting the show to gain the lost audience and ratings, they decided to axe it. It has so much potential.

Kunal has been shown to be a fallen hero throughout the show but now that he is rising above it all we don’t get to see any of the positives. Kunal Chopra’s Parichay has just begun and the show is going off air. How can this happen?? Asking for an extension is not possible because the shooting for the show has ended but we the audience demand for Parichay season 2.

Not only the fans but, Samir Soni (our Kunal Chopra) as well as the rest of the cast don’t want the show to end. Recently, Samir sir even said in an interview that he’d like to produce Parichay season 2 if Balaji Telefilms doesn’t want to. Samir sir also feels the show is unexplored and has so much more to offer. When both the cast and fans want the show back why not bring it back?

At the start, Parichay had very good trps of 2+. The ratings only started to fall when the show shifted to 10.30 pm leading to show going off track. But now it’s back on track don’t ruin it please!

Colors TV please don’t give the lame excuse of low trps for you to axe Parichay. Channel moved Parichay from 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm just to accommodate a reality show Bigg Boss that was only on air for a few months. The previous year this did not happen. If Parichay had not been shifted from 9.30 to 10.30 then I’m sure Parichay wouldn’t be in its last days of air time now. Also the 10 year leap was a bad move. The Richa and Abhay nonsense post leave only destroyed the show further. If SiNal reunion had happened before Abhay forced Siddhi into marriage then, we could have seen Kunal becoming successful and rich instead of the garbage we were shown.

What Parichay did at 9.30 pm, in terms of replacement for that slot is a disgrace. Their ratings are below 2. It’s our humble request to bring back Parichay with the same cast and at the original time slot of 9:30 pm as it was a topper there.

Colors TV don’t forget that you only get trps because the audience watch your channel because of the shows you have. Your GRPs have decreased and with Parichay season 2  I’m sure it will be a huge hit because all the fans are only waiting to hear this news.

I’ve already written down a few ideas of what I’d like to see in season 2. Parichay will end but not properly as cvs have left some tracks unfinished. I have written an opening scene for Parichay season 2. I want to see Kunal rich and successful but not to compromise with his principles. If Balaji Telefilms wants to see what I have written you can do so.

It’s our humble request please we want Parichay season 2 with the same cast and at the original time slot of 9:30 pm as it was a topper there. Until we get confirmation on Parichay season 2, I’d like to wish the cast and crew of Parichay all the very best with whatever they do. The entire cast is amazingly talented which is why many many people all over the globe watch Parichay. And look forward to getting you all back real soon.

Parichay to go off-air, making way for a new show ‘Gurbani’

[To set reminder and check TV schedule of new show Gurbani click here.]

Amidst a lot of speculations, Colors show Parichay Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka is finally biding adieu to its viewers to make way for a new show Gurbani. The news of the show getting pulled off has been in circulation since this January when the female lead of the show Keerti Nagpure had met with a real life accident. The show’s storyline was altered (bomb blast sequence) to suit her absence.

The show is supposed to go off air in mid March 2013. This has come at time, when the team had just celebrated completion of their 400th episode (on February 20, 2013). It was a moment of both delight and grief for the star cast and fans of the show. Some say that the reason for this sudden shut down is dipping TRP while according to some there was nothing left in the story to be explored. The show seemed to have reached a dead end and they had to call for pack-up.

Parichay Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka, a show from Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefims, was based on the story of a fallen hero Kunal Chopra (Sameer Soni), his struggle in his personal as well as professional life and how his life takes a new turn when he meets the lady love or should we say the lady luck of his life Siddhi Chopra (Keerti Nagpure).

From a compromised marriage to selfless love, from being lonely when together to being connected when separated, from unscrupulousness to candor, from nonchalance to solicitude, Kunal and Siddhi’s story had it all. Their love journey was tested against time; they fought against their destiny and emerged as inseparables.

The show was a hit among the audiences right from day one, all credit to the novel storyline revolving around male protagonist it was breather as finally we saw an attempt to explore the male side of story. The show had a successful run of almost two years and had taken one nine year leap.

Along with the established star cast like Sameer Soni, Aruna Irani and Aarti Singh, the mantle of newbie’s like Keerti Nagpure, Prerna Wanwari and Mahesh Shetty was put to test. And one can’t forget the cute and adorable twins Apurva and Anmol Jyotir (Anand).

Audiences loved Sameer and Keerti’s onscreen pairing and they won Colors Golden Petal Most Lokpriya Jodi Award in 2011. Sameer Soni was nominated almost 9 times for Best Actor or allied categories and was triumphant 6 times. Anil Nagpal bagged the Golden Petal Award 2012 for Most Lokpriya Screenplay and Chopra family won the Most Lokpriya Family Award.

It’s said – All that begins must come to an end. And this time it’s Parichay Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka. It is sad that show is ending at time when the plot and storyline were picking up. Is it only TRP or indeed there is nothing left in the show to be explored (though hard to digest how television maverick like Ekta Kapoor can run out of ideas on her show)? One more reason can be sighted, the shift in the time slot where it was a competition to many including Bade Achhe Lagte Hain which is aka Ekta’s show, so may be the shift in timing could have been the TRP and show killer.

But, there is still a hope in the scenario.. The fans are requesting for a season 2 and with Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha‘s second season success, the channel might think about it. So those who loved the show, don’t just sit there and be sad get up and request the channel and show producers to bring the show back.

Meanwhile, we would like to thank the entire cast and crew of Parichay Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka for entertaining us so far. We wish them all the luck for their future endeavors and hope to catch them soon on our television sets. Don’t forget to tell us your Views, Reviews, Comments and Suggestions on Twitter-idduba and set reminders for your favorite shows on idubba app..
