In fact most of you will agree that the old toys have a mesmerizing power of memories that brings that twinkle of tears in your eyes and brings that slightly tilted smile that says it all.

So this post is all about that twinkle and smile… Please feel free to roam around the memoirs lane, we will meet you at the end of this table.

18. R. K. Laxman Ki Duniya 28 November 2011 29 March 2013

So!!!! Did you enjoy the journey… duh uh why wouldn’t you, after all these were once one of the most loved shows.

In fact there were shows that immediately had a demand of Season II like Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain and Parichay—Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka although these request weren’t complied but Lapataganj , did came back to entertain once again and is running smooth now.

Well as we said yesterday… Love Stories are the flavor of every season and there are some love stories that had their happy ending in 2013 like Punar Vivah, Phir Subah Hogi, Rab Se Sohna Isshq, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, Honge Judaa Na Hum and Anamika.

The love hate relationship between and within the families have always been the TRP scorer formula and some of the shows from our table have been scoring over it until they faced the axe… Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, Hitler Didi , Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Amrit Manthan, Alaxmi Ka Super Parivaar have had their share of audience love almost all through there run.

Well, since we mentioned that I am as Numb and Emotional as the image along with the post….. so without saying further I let one and all float in the nostalgic river of these loved shows that will not be with us for the next year. Will see you guys tomorrow, till then Keep Watching, Keep Enjoying and Keep Reading!!! And yup don’t forget to send across your Views, Reviews, Suggestions and Remarks.

Zee Tv is all set to launch a new show: Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan

[To set reminder and check TV schedule of Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan click here...]

Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla etcetera etcetera etcetera….. and now presenting Vijay Raaz – A mature and seasoned Bollywood actor. He is all set to add his name to this list of Bollywood actors who had turned anchors for Television.

He has been roped in by Zee TV as a ‘sutradhar‘ for their upcoming big ticket family saga titled Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan. Interesting huh.. A ‘sutradhar’ for a daily soap!!!
Vijay Raaz has played endearing characters like Dubeyji of Monsoon Wedding, Raghu in Raghu Romeo, Dabloo in Yuva, the poker faced underworld don in Delhi Belly and many more. He came in light with his “Kauwa Biriyanni” act in the movie Run. His performance in the movie got a cult status and was appreciated by the masses.

Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan will be Vijay’s debut on small screen as a compere. In words of Vijay “I had an amazing time shooting for the promos of the show. The teaser campaign is very interesting and is very different from what one usually sees on television. The concept of the show is very captivating and I hope I’m able to build the required intrigue amongst the viewers through the promos.”

Two teasers for the show are already out and we find Vijay stating that he has nothing to do with the story. Quite a suspense for now. Well we have heard that the story of the show is loosely based or should we say inspired from a Bengali show Khela, which was extremely popular. Daastan, as the show will be popularly called, is a story about two strong women who will unite to fight a highly manipulative and extremely stubborn patriarchal structure in their home.

Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan is produced by Ravi Ojha, the maker of successful show Sasural Genda Phool on Star Plus. Preeti Mamgain is the writer of the show. Preeti has written several successful serials in the past like Saans, Banegi Apni Baat, Kanyadaan, Waaris etc.

The show also boasts of an impressive lineup of artists like Kiran Karmarkar (Of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii), Mona Ambegaonkar (seen in C.I.D), Chaitanya Choudhary (seen in Uttaran), Sanjeeda Shaikh (of Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa fame), Rishi Khurana (of Saas Bina Sasural), Namrata Thapa (seen in Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli), Abhaas Mehta (of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon) and Additi Gupta (seen in Kis Desh Mein Hai Meera Dil).

Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan is undoubtedly a show to look forward to for its dynamic packaging. It will however be interesting to see if this horde of talent is able to create some magic on the screen or will set another example of Unchi Dukan, Pheeka Pakwan.

Currently the show is scheduled for launch on March 11, 2013. Going by the manner in which fiction shows are faring on the TRP chart on Zee TV, it looks as though it will either be Phir Subah Hogi (which is placed at the 11 pm slot) or Mrs. Kaushik ki Paanch Bahuein (10 pm slot) which will have to face the music to make way for this new fiction show. Sources say that Mrs. Kaushik ki Paanch Bahuein is the most likely to be axed as of now.

Zee TV, through this show, aims to cater to viewers who seek to watch non-clichéd plots replete with dollops of twists and turns. Well, how different is the show from the current ones will be decided by the audiences. We are just waiting to watch if Badalte Rishton Ki Dastaan is able to Badal (change) the TRP chart for Zee TV for its slots – either 10 pm or 11 pm.

What happened on TV in the year 2012- Countdown status: 8 days – Shows that 2012 welcomed!

The year 2012 gave us a lot of new shows and the list is so long that we will divide it in two posts! So here you go with Part 1 :)

Star Plus:

Arjun – Run Time – August 11, 2012 – Present:

A brooding cop whose mind works out the connections and equations like no one else…the mystery of cases, history of his angry silent man avatar and the love story angle with the lady officer, all this together makes this show an interesting weekend watch.

Well Arjun might be replaced soon by another show but since it is almost on the New Year mark. It is definitely in our list :)

Ek Veer Ki Ardaas – Run Time – October 29, 2012 – Present:

Cuteness personified – Two words that aptly describe the show and its characters. Veer means elder brother in Punjabi and Ranvijay is being a more than a Veer, almost a mother to Veera his sibling.

The story revolves around the two kids and their relationship, we are hoping the show would run well into next year as well, as the show any day has a chance to take a leap and show the relationship of teen siblings. In hopes that the leap is far far away and we can enjoy the two cute kids, we welcome Veera into the next year.

Kaali – Ek Punar Avatar – Run Time – December 3, 2012 – Present:

A new crime fiction show based on the famous Nitish Katara murder case where a mother fights and gets justice for her son.

It’s not just about a mothers who fight for justice, but a woman’s struggle to keep her head high and keep believing in her ideologies. The show has replaced one of the most popular shows of Star Plus – Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, obviously the pressure over the show is pretty high. Well what will happen to the show – lots of love or lots of changes depends on the audience, but for sure this show is making its way into next year.

Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan – Run Time – November 12, 2012 – Present:

Silence has always been given credit of being more than it seems whether in terms of strength or conversation…here the title itself defines the speech aspect of silence around.

The story is based on a girl who has not been told the truth up till now, even about her real parents. Although she has figured out some of the truths but there are definitely more layers, silent layers that say a lot to her. All the silence and the secrets are definitely continuing in the next year, to entertain you all.

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai, Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara  – Run Time – June 18, 2012 – Present:

It is said that your circumstances, situations and surroundings shapes you and your thoughts and proving this ideology are two people with opposite beliefs. One who had his parents’ broken marriage to look upon doesn’t believe or understand relationships and on the other hand one is grown in a loving joint family and thus believes on the strength of love and relationships.

The two obviously have landed with each other… firstly as friends and now as life partners, the journey of ideologies, love and relationship is successfully stepping into the bright new light of the New Year.

Zee TV:

Fear Files – Run Time – June 30, 2012 – Present:

The show is focused on the supernatural, paranormal and mysterious events that sometimes take place in people’s lives. The show also introduces paranormal who comment on a kind of spirit or paranormal activity in the ending of each episode.

The weekends of this year has definitely been a bit scarier and the happy news is that the scary quotient is joining us in the next year’s weekends as well.

Phir Subah Hogi – Run Time – April 17, 2012 – Present:

The shows that are based on women empowerment usually shows that the family sulks when a girl is born, but this particular show tells another tale. The parents and families enjoy on the birth of a girl child because her “sardhakayi” will bring money in the house.

While the lead fights against all this, even now when she has circumstantially fallen into the same pit her attempts to live as a strong headed person has not diminished. Although the story has now converted itself into a plain love triangle we hope that the new brings the original track back into the focus.

Punar Vivah – Run Time – 20th February, 2012 – Present:

The show enjoys the title of being the second most popular show of Zee TV, the first being Pavitra Rishta. It presents tough competition to its competitor show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain which airs on Sony TV at the same time.

The show has become so popular within the year that it is now dubbed in Telugu and broadcasted by Zee Telugu as Punar Vivaaham. It is also dubbed in Tamil and broadcasted by Zee Tamil as Marumanam which is aired from 1st October, 2012.

Hmmm!! Looks like we have got a show that is here to stay in Hindi and other languages as well…all the best for 2013!

Qubool Hai – Run Time – October 29, 2012 – Present:

The show will focus on the Muslim community and aims to dispel stereotypes regarding Islam. The lead protagonist respects her religion and its tradition but also respects her rights and identity, while her lead is against her openness.

Well honestly this can get very risky…everyone is really protective towards their religion and the smallest of mistake can hurt their sentiment, hope this kind of trouble does not crops us for the show in the next year as well (prayers :) )

Rab Se Sohna Isshq – Run Time – July 16, 2012 – Present:

The filmy story that based its first few weeks in London and its landscapes is enjoying a successful run. Although the funny coincident in the show is that when Sahiba was in love with Ranveer she was married to Daljeet and now when she has fallen for Daljeet she is married to Ranveer. So she will not be in love with the person she is married, is it?

Well funny or not the show is winning hearts and we wish it similar response for the upcoming year…all the best!

Sabke Jeevan Ka Aadhar – Ramayan – Run Time – June 18, 2012 – Present:

Mythological is undoubtedly a re-emerging trend and Zee has taken up the responsibility of promoting it as well…with its Sunday special Ramayan.

Mythological serials usually have a time frame and so does Ramayan, so all we can wish them is a really happy and prosperous run in the New Year.

Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke – Run Time – May 21, 2012 – Present:

It is the story of two cousins, Rachna and Gunjan, who become friends. Rachana is a simple girl, while Gunjan is free spirited & fun-loving. She came from Mumbai to live with Rachana’s family after her mother’s death. She later falls in love with Mayank. However the couple faces many ups and downs. Their relationship does not last very long due to Mayanks selfish mother who creates misunderstanding between the two. While Rachna who fell in one way love with her hockey coach Rajeev but broke up as Rajeev was not willing, Rachna’s parents fixed her alliance with Vihaan Aggarval who is Rajeev’s brother. Rachna started to love and care for Vihaan and is happy right now.

So do you agree that there was a lot that was offered to us in terms of entertainment on television? If not, then we will bring list of more such shows tomorrow and then you can give us your reviews. Till then Keep Watching, Keep Enjoying and Keep Reading!

Happy 24th of December and wish you Merry Christmas in advance!

With no TRPs till December TV channels are trying to make most of it; A full week of maha-episodes of Pavitra Rishta on Zee Tv

The moment ‘TRPs ki batti gul Hui – sabke Dimag ki btati ke jalne ka samay aya…’ and the first one to lead is yet again Zee Tv.

It will be news to none that Zee Tv is trying to promote Pavitra Rishta big time, once it was a high grosser of the channel and it is still doing great but looks like channel wants the best. Have you noticed that every Maha – Shukruvar, Shanivaar or Maha – Sangam or for that matter any special episode on Zee Tv is not complete without the presence of Pavitra Rishta in it. If you have let loose your thinking horses on this topic you would agree to our earlier statement that Zee Television is religiously promoting its 9:00 pm show Pavitra Rishta.

Well, we really do not blame Zee for it…9:00 pm being one of the prime slots of Television and it faces competition with the TRP topper serial Diya Aur Baati Hum and now joining the race is Bigg Boss Season 6…who would not fight?

So, this time when Zee Tv got its 9:30 slot free for a week as Phir Subah Hogi has been shifted to 11:00 pm slot from today and its new serial Qubool Hai is still a week from its launch, Pavitra Rishta is getting all the special treatment it can.

The show will now have a week full of Maha Episodes i.e. the show will have one hour specials from today to the Friday…now that’s what we call the Maha Special treatment.

While it is obvious the result of this will not be clear till December (no TRPS!!!) but one thing is for sure that there is no loss, just pure simple gain; not just to Pavitra Rishta but also to the new entrant Qubool Hai.

How? Very simple the religious followers of Pavitra Rishta would stick to Zee Tv for an hour and will lose a week of their 9:30 serial (if it had been on other channel) and when Pavitra Rishta will go back to its half hour routine audiences might stay back for Qubool Hai for a fresh new start (for the pressure for really interesting first few episodes is definitely high).

Even not so religious followers of Pavitra Rishta would love to see a week of Maha episodes as it can offer some speed to the slow moving track and more twists and turns in the story and the audiences might stay back for Qubool Hai as well. But it’s not just Pavitra Rishta benefiting Qubool hai there is also a vice a versa case…the audiences who are interested to view Qubool Hai might also view Pavitra Rishta in their wait for the show, as and when they get the hung of Pavitra Rishta they might continue to watch Pavitra Rishta even after the release of Qubool Hai.

So it’s a profitable situation overall as we said there is nothing to lose; but there is a serial that can have the adverse effect of this situation. Phir Subah Hogi, a shift in timing can work both ways for the show either it will swim or get drown. Although there is only one serial in direct competition to Phir Subah Hogi in 11:00 pm slot Kuch Toh Log Kahenge of Sony Entertainment Television, so there can be a chance that both the serials co exist in serenity or they both can fight for their right of viewers attention.

Hmmm well it’s true when they say a life of a serial is as tough as the life of its main protagonists. So how balanced would be this Profit and Loss Situation, do tell us what are your views, reviews and comments on it and we will get back to it once we start getting the weekly mark sheets aka TRPs…Till then Keep Watching, Keep Enjoying and Keep Reading. :)

Zee Tv to launch new show "Qubool Hai" based on Muslim community

Qubool Hai !! Well you might have heard this term in numerous movies and also in some serials. So what does this exactly mean? As part of verbal acceptance of Muslim Marriages a couple says Qubool Hai three times and thus this is known as Nikkah. Well in this case we are talking about a new serial on Zee TV known as Qubool Hai. So what is this new show all about? Let’s try to find out more about this upcoming show.

Well this is kind of a soap opera that will focus on the Muslim community and aims to uncover stereotypes regarding Islam. The story is set in a Muslim backdrop and is a story of a culture which is so rich yet misunderstood the most. There is no doubt that Muslims from all over the world have a long history of making significant contributions to the society. They are diverse in nature, enriched with rich literature, music and language heritage that has a profound impression on all of us.Qubool Hai” is said to be about a journey of life, its trials and tribulations and acceptance of one’s fate. So will this show be able to carry the same culture and impress the audiences?

Let’s now focus on the cast of this new show Dr. Armaan of Dill Mill Gayye is all set to be back on TV screen. Yes Karan Singh Grover will be playing the lead role. So who will be the leading lady paired against Karan? Surbhi Jyoti, who is a popular name in Punjabi movies will be making her television debut with this show, and will be playing the female protagonist. Well her role will be of a very young and dynamic Zoya, a young and pretty Muslim lady with a very modern outlook.

So when will be audiences be able to catch this new romantic family drama on television? The news is that Qubool Hai will be aired from Monday to Friday at 9:30 pm from 29th October on Zee Tv.
